| PEDESTAL MARLYS SOWERS The basket will be jump started with the staves already inserted into the base. Students will weave over a mold with cane. The rim will be a turned one-piece rim that will be glued on, and top it off with a lid. The staves, rim, base and lid will be cherry wood. | SYMPHONY DIANNE STANTON Using Construct an original basket using several natural materials. The spokes and weavers in this round bottomed basket are prepared black ash. After attaching to a simple mold, the sides can be woven with smooth black ash, American elm bark, sweet grass, and/or cedar bark using plain weave. A sturdy rim of elm bark and sweetgrass completes the basket. Bring your imagination and have fun with a design or follow the technique and pattern presented.
