Using gourd pieces that have been cleaned and dyed, you can create one of a kind jewelry.  Make wearable pins using wire plus many different types of yarns and beads.  Make up to 3 pieces.   ALL LEVELS

The basket will be jump started with the staves already inserted into the base.  Students will weave over a mold with cane. The rim will be a turned one-piece rim that will be glued on, and top it off with a lid.  The staves, rim, base and lid will be cherry wood.

Using Construct an original basket using several natural materials. The spokes and weavers in this round bottomed basket are prepared black ash. After attaching to a simple mold, the sides can be woven with smooth black ash, American elm bark, sweet grass, and/or cedar bark using plain weave.  A sturdy rim of elm bark and sweetgrass completes the basket. Bring your imagination and have fun with a design or follow the technique and pattern presented.  Preparation of materials will be discussed.
