| PHILODENDRON GOURD SANDY BULGRIN Get started with gourd crafting using a prepared gourd that has been cleaned, dyed and drilled. Students will take a philodendron sheath and waxed linen to stitch onto the rim of the gourd. Embellish with beads and feathers to create a one of a kind art piece. Growing, harvesting, cleaning and preparing the gourd for crafting will be discussed. ALL LEVELS Various sizes of gourds Class, prep & material fee $50 |
| WOVEN GOURD SANDY BULGRIN A unique vessel and each will be different. Starting with a gourd that’s cleaned, dyed and drilled, students will use smoked reed for spokes and a variety of different sizes, colors, and types of reed to weave on the gourd. When finished, students can embellish with beads and feathers. Growing, harvesting, cleaning and preparing the gourd for crafting will be discussed. | MARBELING DEMO VENIE HINSON Watch the demo then make your own as time allows! Marbling is the art of floating colors on a solution, then combing through the “stones” to create wonderful colorful patterns. Watch the demo on “how to marble” then it’s YOUR turn to have fun as time permits - right then, or possibly during mealtime or after you finish another class (takes about 15 min), then let them dry. Create 3 poplar strips or a silk scarf. Keep all or trade with others. Class, prep & material fee $42 |
